<p>The present invention relates to a system implemented on a computer or network system for editing a mathematical equation and method therefor. The method for editing a mathematical equation based on the key code received from input means in equation editing system, the method comprising: determining whether the received key is a key for editing the equation based on a code table of combined keys, the code table of combined keys includes codes representing characters for mathematical equation and corresponding codes representing the combined key; editing the equation or text of document according to the result of the determining step and returning to stand-by mode to receive a key from the input means. Accordingly, a user can edit a mathematical equation with reduced number of strokes of keyboard by the code table of combined keys that represents all the characters for mathematical equation. Further, a user does not need to use any other input means including mouse for all the characters for mathematical equation.</p> |
