The method involves an evaluation circuit driving a displacement-proportional, quasi-continuous voltage value for the relative position between first and second sub-systems forming the stator and rotor by evaluating the motor drive signal. The displacement dependency of the electrical signal variation is ensured by a suitable constructive formation of an electrical asymmetry of a short circuit winding (1) in one sub-system.
