The side plate consists of a sealing cover disk and cast side parts (2) having an outer rim (6) and a wall confining the combustion space. The wall is ribbed (8,9,11,13,14,15) on the side furthest from the combustion space. Two tensile ribs (8,9) radiate at an approximate right angle between rim (6) and flange (10) and form a tangent with the flange (10). Additional ribs (11) of lighter section are arranged between the tensile ribs (8,9) and the side part (2) is in turn ribbed (13-16) between flange (10) and rim (6).
