The drive for an adjustable closing element of motor vehicle's roof has a pull cable(16) guided so that two lines run on each side of the closing element and which with operation of the drive unit move in opposite directions. The two respective lines fit on the adjusting mechanism for the closing element, or one of the two lines operates the drive element for the adjusting mechanism while the other two operated a control element for the adjusting mechanism.
