The installation duct for cables or pipes has a cover unit(11) with materials containing cement, plaster or plaster board and after laying of the cables(15) or pipes(16) on the wall is fitted so that together with the associated wall it forms a closed cross section encompassing the cables or pipes. The cover unit in cross section is U-shaped or L-shaped, and is attached to the wall by adhesive or by fastening elements such as screws. The cover unit has abutment faces(14) by which it rests against the wall.
