Mechanical dish pushrod for valve drive of IC engine

The pushrod (1) has upper and lower thrust plates (5,6) by which the valve play is set. The lower valve plates (6) have a considerably greater play setting zone (HSW) than the upper ones (5), which are all identical for all engines of the same type. This reduces the total weight of the pushrod. During the initial assembly of the pushrod, the valve play can be set by the relatively small lower thrust plate with relatively little variation in mass. In use, variations in play are evened out by the upper plate.
