The operating device includes a fluid drive (2), control unit (1) and sensor unit (4). Before activating an opening movement starting from the original position the control unit evaluates the actual state of a locking device (11) of the swivel door (3) so that activation can only be implemented when the locking unit is in the unlocked state. The control pressure of the locking unit can be used as evaluation to detect the unlocked state.
