The method involves feeding the liquid to one or more measurement chambers (4,5) of defined volume and outputting does of liquid with a pump (1), whereby the measurement chambers are filled to a maximum level and then emptied by the pump to a minimum level. The number of dosing pulses of the pulsed pump is determined until the minimal level is reached and the number of dosing pulses for a quantity to be output is derived from this.
