98P7C3: HOMEODOMAIN PROTEIN HIGHLY EXPRESSED IN VARIOUS CANCERS

A novel gene (designated 98P7C3) and its encoded protein are described. While 98P7C3 exhibits tissue-restricted expression in normal adult tissue, it is aberrantly expressed in multiple cancers including prostate, bladder, kidney, lung, breast, uterine, cervical, stomach, rectal and colon cancers. Consequently, 98P7C3 provides a diagnostic and/or therapeutic target for cancers, and the 98P7C3 gene or fragment thereof, or its encoded protein or a fragment thereof used to elicit an immune response.
