The present invention relates to compositions and methods for nucleic acid analyses. More particularly, this invention provides compositions and method s for differential gene expression analyses on nucleic acid arrays. This invention discloses more preferably differential gene expression analyses on nucleic acid arrays using nucleic acid samples having distinct radioactive labels. Even more particularly, this invention relates to compositions and methods for nucleic acid analysis, comprising contacting at least two differently radiolabelled nucleic acid samples on a nucleic acid array, and detecting (or comparing or quantifying) hybrids formed between the nucleic acids of the samples and the nucleic acid array. The present invention can b e used to detect or monitor gene expression or to compare gene expression (e.g ., differential gene expression screening), for instance, and is suitable for u se in research, diagnostic and many pharmacogenomics applications, for instance .
