At the cut, seamed, parallel edges, a polymer strip (4) is included. This is reactive (e.g. heats up) in a high frequency field. It is penetrated by the seam stitching. When heated, it fills the penetrations and the interspace contained by the edges. An Independent claim is included for the corresponding method. This involves heating and pressing, to melt-on the now low-viscosity material. Once the seam has been filled and sealed, pressure is increased. The seam is then cooled. Preferred features: Further such strips may be included. They comprise polyurethane copolymers or polyester. The stitching is polyester. The strip is a plastic with great affinity for the textile surface and stitches.
