In a colorant vapor deposition apparatus (10) which acts for forming a recording layer of an optical recording medium, use is made of an organic dye (14) being uniform in the size of particles, which allows preventing the occurrence of splash when the organic dye (14) is heated by an electric heater, preventing the adhesion of particles of the organic dye (14) to a substrate, enhancing the flowability of the organic dye (14) in a feeder (28) for an organic dye and feeding the organic dye (14) smoothly. |
