摘要 A lithium battery which has a compact structure, can be manufactured in a simple method and in which short-circuiting hardly occurs between electrodes. The manufacturing method includes a process for respectively providing different separators (10 and 20) so as to cover at least the facing surfaces of positive and negative electrodes (1 and 2) and a process for fixing the separators coating the positive and the negative electrodes to each other after the separators are put upon one another by facing the surfaces of the separators to each other. Since the positive and the negative electrodes are put upon one another after the electrodes are separately coated with different separators, the dislocation of the electrodes hardly occurs. Even when the electrodes are put upon one another in a dislocated state, short-circuiting hardly occurs, because the facing surfaces of the electrodes are coated with the separators. Moreover, it is not required to make the areas of the separators larger than those of the electrodes. Since this lithium battery is provided with laminated electrode bodies, each of which contains at least two separators between each positive electrode and negative electrode, and provided with adhesive layers (3) between the positive and negative electrodes and between the separators, a practical laminated lithium ion battery which has a compact structure and a large capacity and contains laminated electrode bodies and in which short-circuiting hardly occurs between the electrodes can be manufactured easily.
