The invention relates to a process or a device for determining a value representing the speed of a motor vehicle. According to this method, the speeds of at least two wheels are determined and the value representing the speed of the vehicle is detected in dependence on the speed of at least one selected wheel. The wheel required for detecting the value representing the speed of the vehicle is selected at least in dependence on an operating status of the vehicle. The operating status is represented by at least the speeds of at least two wheels or at least in dependence on a value determined at least in accordance with these speeds. |
