ENDOGLUCANASE NCE5 AND CELLULASE PREPARATIONS CONTAINING THE SAME

An enzyme endoglucanase which is usable in relieving hairiness, improving texture and appearance, clarifying color, topically changing color and relieving stiffness of cellulose-containing fibers and in detergent compositions and, further, useful in deinking waste paper, improving freeness of paper pulp, etc. A cDNA encoding the endoglucanase is cloned from Humicola insolens and its DNA sequence and an amino acid sequence deduced therefrom are determined.
