908,324. Sawing. INDUSTRIE-MASCHINEN G.m.b.H. May 24, 1961 [May 27, 1960], No. 18702/61. Class 145. Loosely-heaped material, such as wood chips mixed with a binding agent, is fed in the form of a continuous fleece on a conveyer 1 or of separate mats on plates 1a on the conveyer to a preliminary press having a ram 4 and at least one saw 12 is provided to sever, or trim one edge of, the material in dependency on the working stroke of the ram; if only one saw is used, it is provided on the inlet side of the press. As shown, cross-cut circular saws 12 and driving motors 11 are mounted on frames 7 at both the inlet and outlet sides. When the ram has reached its lowermost position, the frames 7 are moved vertically down by a common drive motor and carriers 10 for the saws are then fed transversely across the material on guide rods 8. When the severing and trimming cuts have been performed, the frames 7 are raised and the saws are either returned transversely to their original position or remain in advanced position for a cut on the return stroke. Hoods 13 and suction pipes 14 are provided for the removal of sawdust. |
