The chair has a frame on which first fixtures (2) in the form of plates protruding from the back of the frame are attached, and a backrest (1) to which second fixtures (3) are attached. The two fixtures are plugged together. The edge of the plates facing the back-rest has slits (4,5) spaced apart above each other and which open out in the opposite direction to the insertion direction (6) of the chair's surface on which it stands. The second fixtures are in the form of rollers (3) with grooves fixed to the back-rest and spaced apart above each other. The rollers fit into the slits the upper ones of which are shorter than the lower ones.
