A process for the removal of organic acids from mono-olefin containing fractions of the Fischer Tropsch process is characterized in that the liquid fraction undergo a selective hydrogenation of the carbonyl groups of the acid whereby the organic acid is converted to an alcohol using an excess of hydrogen and an acid free crude product containing mono-olefins and alcohols is recovered.
