<p>The assembly of a product from a workpiece is monitored by collecting test data from a plurality of automatic or manual testing stations (6, 7) which perform tests on the workpiece at different stages of assembly. The testing stations are controlled and operated asynchronously and connected together by a network (5) to a yield server (9). The test data are aggregated and analysed in real time to calculate and display the values of specific properties of the assembly process, such as the yield and the test station utilisation value, at any level of aggregation selected by the user. The method enables the user to monitor the performance of an entire assembly process comprising numerous sites, lines, groups of test stations, individual test stations and individual tests.</p> |
