PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that ink end is detected erroneously when the flow rate of a pump increases or a bubble generating ink is used and normal recording can not be carried out because bubble ink is fed or the inside of a recorder is stained with bubbles discharged together with air from an opening communicating with the atmosphere. SOLUTION: The ink jet recorder comprises a recording head performing recording by ejecting ink, an ink tank for supplying ink to the recording head, a sub-tank for temporarily storing ink supplied from the ink tank and having an opening communicating with the atmosphere, a recovery tub for capping the recording head at the time of non-recording and receiving ejected ink at the time of recovering, and a pump for sucking ink from the recovery tub wherein ink sucked from the recovery tub is returned back to the sub-tank and reused. The sub-tank has means for separating ink and air. |
