PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-class glossy cast coated paper usable as printing paper and wrapping paper, having heightened brilliant properties, and excellent in decorativeness. SOLUTION: This glossy coated paper is obtained by coating a glossy coating material obtained by formulating a flaky pigment particles composed of a flaky glass having the surface coated with a metal, or a metal oxide having the refraction index higher than that of the flaky glass, as a glossy pigment. The method for producing the glossy coated paper comprises coating the glossy coating material on the surface to be coated of a base paper.
