PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste gas treating system which is capable of efficiency treating dioxins, etc., in exhaust gases without discharging the dioxins sticking to dust from the inside of a system and a method for treating the same. SOLUTION: This system comprises a waste incineration furnace 101 which incinerates refuse, i.e., a material to be treated, a gas cooler 201 which cools the exhaust gases 11 of about 950 deg.C discharged from this incineration furnace 101 by cooling means, such as water spraying, a catalyst reaction device 202 which decomposes the hazardous materials in the exhaust gases 11 at a which temperature state of 250 to 500 deg.C in a gas state, a dust collector 105 which is disposed on the rear flow side of the catalyst reaction device 202 and removes the dust in the exhaust gases lowered in temperature by a temperature lowering column 104 and a chimney 108 which discharges the cleaned exhaust gases outside. |
