PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a slurry composition useful as a material capable of naturally producing a formed article having excellent design and of a small lot, and also a large-scale extrusion-formed article, and to provide an article having a large shape and a complicated structure, for example, a metal-made machine part, or the like, by a simple shaping method without needing an expensive freeze drying apparatus in spite that its shape-fixing is performed through freezing. SOLUTION: The slurry composition consists of (1) an aqueous solution of a polyvinyl alcohol having a molecular weight of 5,000-500,000, a degree of saponification of >=90% and an ability of gel-forming by freezing, and (2) a metal powder or ceramic powder. The slurry is formed into a desired shape, the resultant shape is fixed by freezing, and subsequently, the article is defrosted, and then subjected to drying and sintering. |
