PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new composition having antioxidation function and effective for lowering the cholesterol concentration and neutral fatty acid concentration in blood. SOLUTION: The objective extract having a total polyphenol content of 20.8-50.4% and a protein content of 5.2% is produced by mixing 2 pts. of sorghum powder with 1 pt. of 30% ethanol, leaving the mixture for one night while stirring with intervals of several hours, filtering under reduced pressure to collect the supernatant, stirring the residue in 30% ethanol to repeat the extraction, adding the supernatant to the former supernatant, concentrating under reduced pressure and freeze-drying the product. |
