PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a material having improved flame retardance, color tone and heat resistance, suitable as a molding material for various kinds of moldings such as an optical disc, a sheet, an automobile-related part, an office automation instrument, parts of household electric appliances. SOLUTION: This aromatic polycarbonate resin composition is characterized by compounding 100 pts.wt. of an aromatic polycarbonate which is a polycarbonate produced by a reaction between an aromatic dihydroxy compound and a compound into which a carbonate bond can be introduced and having 12,000-40,000 viscosity-average molecular weight, which has <=1,000 ppm content of a specific cyclic oligomer of formula (1) in which the ratio of the specified cyclic oligomer content to the total oligomer content satisfies a specific relation and is incorporated with 0.01-30 pts.wt. of a flame retardant.
