PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and safety store genes to the generation of descendants, and speedily provide genetic information when necessary. SOLUTION: In this gene storing method, A. samples including genes are taken from a specific part in the body to be applied to gene fixing papers, and dried, and B. the gene fixing papers are stored at specified parts in a mortuary tablet 1, and C. an identification means to relate the providers of the genes with the gene fixing papers is provided at a specified part in the mortual tablet 1. The providers of the genes are, favorably, a pair of a man and his wife. The mortual tablet 1 to be used in this storing method comprises a base 2 and a plate 3 provided to stand on it. Under a bottom surface of the plate 3, a connection piece 4 to be detachably engaged in a locking hole H in the base 2 is extended. In adjacent surfaces of the base 2 and the plate 3, hidden holes S1 and S2 for storing the gene fixed papers are provided.
