PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a needle selector for a jacquard machine excellent in durability, reliability of needle selection (certainty of shedding motion) and resistance to deformation under load. SOLUTION: This needle selector for the jacquard machine is equipped with a carrier 13 which fastens plural hooks 20 and reciprocates, and further with plural hook selecting members 5 of which the each is located in a traveling direction of the carrier 13 and can swing between a position A where the hook selecting member advances to a path P of the hook 20 and another position B where the hook selecting member escapes from the path P of the hook 20, wherein at least an upper part 20a of the hook 20 is formed so flexibly that the hook 20 can bend when the hook contacts with the needle selector 5 which advances to the path P of the hook 20, and further a fastener 17 which can fasten a barb 23 of the hook 20 is arranged so that the hook 20 changes its relative position to the carrier 13.
