PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for stacking successive planar products (newspaper) and dividing pluralities of the products into individual stacks. SOLUTION: A circular conveyor 3 is provided with multiple conveyor grippers arranged in a circle that are located on its circumference with an interval among them, and a sensor 14 is adjacently arranged to the path of the products held by grippers 4. The sensor 14 counts the number of the products. The products are held individually by the separately arranged grippers 4, so that the count performed by the sensor is accurately reflected on the volume of a stack formed. A linear conveyor 2 is arranged on the upstream side of the circular conveyor 3, and the products are transferred from the linear conveyor 2 to the circular conveyor 3 at a transfer point. The sensor 14 is arranged adjacently to the linear conveyor 2, and the interval of grippers of the linear conveyor 2 and the interval of grippers of the circular conveyor 3 are the same as the distance from the sensor 14 to a stacking point 23.
