PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply produce precipitates of a molybdenum compound which have a high purity and a desired average particle size, with excellent workability even in case of the precipitate containing three or more kinds of metallic elements. SOLUTION: This method of producing precipitates of a molybdenum compound comprises at least the first step where the solution or slurry is adjusted in the pH to <=6.5 to form crude precipitates and the second step where the crude precipitate is dissolved in aqueous ammonia, then the solution is acidified to <=6.5 pH to form the precipitates whereby the precipitate of a high purity is given.
