PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently execute printing on one face and perfecting printing with a simple structure. SOLUTION: This ink jet printer comprises a carriage capable of reciprocating, first and second heads which are mounted on the carriage in back-to-back arrangement and eject ink drops in the opposite directions with each other, first and second printing sections that execute the printing by conveying a paper in a main scanning direction by allowing the paper to face the first and second heads while the carriage moves the first and second heads in the main scanning direction, a paper feed inlet, a paper discharge outlet, first and second paper conveyance paths that respectively couple the paper feed inlet with the first and second printing sections, third and fourth paper conveyance paths that respectively couple the first and second printing sections with the paper discharge outlet, a U-shaped paper conveyance path, fifth and sixth paper conveyance paths that couple the first printing section to each of an inlet and an outlet of the U-shaped paper conveyance path and seventh and eighth paper conveyance paths that couple the second printing section to each of the outlet and the inlet of the U-shaped paper conveyance.
