PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that running cost becomes high because methanol is injected in a hydrogen donor necessary for denitrification reaction in organic wastewater treatment method wherein organic wastewater is brought into contact with nitrifying bacteria to be nitrified and further brought into contact with denitrifying bacteria to be denitrified and organic matter is added to the treated wastewater to be brought into contact with denitrifying bacteria separate from the above mentioned denitrifying bacteria to be further denitrified and the control/operation of equipment becomes complicated. SOLUTION: As the organic matter, organic matter formed by digesting sludge generated by nitrification and/or denitrification is used.
