PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a left problem wherein when the peripheral edge of a piece to be sewn is sewn by a zigzag sewing, in the conventional method, it is required that an uneven shape in cope with a sewing pitch to a position fixing guide should be formed but however, as the uneven shape is formed in advance on the position fixing guide in this method, it is impossible to be in cope with change in the sewing pitch and in addition, strength of the position fixing guide becomes brittle and weak and therefore, a method in which a reverse device is used is investigated but positioning of a sewn article is not stabilized. SOLUTION: A body pressing device for pressing and holding the article to be sewn in the peripheral device and a position fixing guiding device with a positioning guide and a driving means are provided on a sewing device using the reverse device and when the piece to be sewn is sewn, after the piece to be sewn and an article to be sewn are held by means of the above described pressing member and the body pressing device, the positioning guide is avoided from the sewing position by the above described driving means.
