PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover device for a manual starting valve for preventing the mischievous operation of the valve for manually actuating a fire extinguishing appliance and specifying a mischievous action and a site where a fire occurs. SOLUTION: The cover device for a manual starting valve for a fire extinguishing appliance comprises a base clocked to a pilot pipe and a cover body pivotally supported on the base in a rotatable manner for enclosing the manually actuating valve provided in the pilot pipe and releasing the manual starting valve from the enclosed condition with the rotation. The base or the cover body is provided with an alarm for sounding an alarm during releasing the manual starting valve from the enclosed condition.
