PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an incineration apparatus capable of treating wastes and saving coal for a finely powdered coal-fueled boiler and whose an incineration ash is easy to treat. SOLUTION: A solid waste 1 is thermally decomposed to a thermal decomposition gas 8 and a thermal decomposition residue (char) 10 in a thermal decomposition furnace 7 of a thermal decomposition apparatus and the thermal decomposition residue 10 is supplied to a furnace 21 of a boiler to be burned solely or in form of a mixture with other fuel. The thermal decomposition apparatus comprises a supply pipeline part 9a for introducing a combustion waste gas from the gas burner 9 into the thermal decomposition furnace 7 and a supply pipeline part 9b for introducing an incineration waste gas discharged out the thermal decomposition furnace 7 into a drying furnace 4.
