PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic endoscope excellent in assembling properties and repairing properties and reduced in cost. SOLUTION: A locking hole 23a, in which a holding ring 51 projected from a projected leading end surface 11c by a predetermined quantity is locked, is formed to the central part of a housing 23 and, in such a state that the leading end part of the holding ring 51 is locked in the locking hole 23a, the housing 23 is integrally fixed to the projected leading end surface lie by screws 45a, 45b. Therefore, by detaching the screws 45a, 45b, an ultrasonic scanning unit 20 wherein a vibrator shaft 24, an ultrasonic vibrator 25, a rotary gear 28, a transmission shaft 31, a transmission gear 32, a coaxial cable 49, or the like, are integrally constituted within the housing 23 can be detached from the projected part 11b of a leading end hard part 11. That is, the ultrasonic scanning unit 20 is detachable with respect to the projected part 11b of the leading end hard part 11.
