PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive, easy and industrially advantageous production method intended for forming a C-C bond on the 5-position of oxazole. SOLUTION: This method for producing an oxazole derivative, a compound (salt) of formula (3), is characterized by comprising reaction between a compound (salt) of formula (1) [wherein, R1 and R2 are each H, a (substituted) hydrocarbon group or (substituted) heterocyclic group] and a compound (salt) of formula (2) [wherein, R3 is an electron-attracting group; and R4, R5 and R6 are each H or a (substituted) hydrocarbon group] in the presence of an acid or base.
