The present invention provides a method and system for displaying market data. The method of the present invention comprises the following principal steps. A graph is cosntructed having a first axis representing price and a second axis representing time measured in increments of trading sessions, wherein a plurality of trading sessions make up a longer trading period. For each trading session, points are plotted on the graph representing the highest and lowest price occurring within the trading session. For each trading period, a bar is drawn connecting the point on the graph corresponding to the lowest price occurring within the trading period to the point on the graph corresponding to the highest price occurring within the trading period. A chart according to the present invention may have one or more trendlines connecting three or more points that correspond to the lowest or highest prices for a trading session or a trading period. |
