<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of a gateway repeater and to improve performance by specifying the destination address of a connectionless type packet network from a connection identifier used in transfer inside a connection type packet network. SOLUTION: A connectionless type packet input device 3G receives a transferred packet for CL transfer and transfers it to a header/payload separation device 3H. Then, in a VPI/VCI analysis device 3I a VPI/VCI value is extracted from the flow label area, for example, of an obtained header. In a VPI/VCI conversion device 3J, the VPI/VCI value used in the transfer inside the ATM- LAN system of a destination is specified from the obtained VPI/VCI value. A packet output device 3K turns a payload obtained from the separation device 3H to a user packet for VC pertinent to the VPI/VCI value, divides it into ATM cells and outputs them to an ATM exchange.</p> |
