The invention disclosed a new kind of human 10 characterized in that is comprises the sequence of gamma glutamyl transpeptidase and the polynucleotide encoding said polypeptide and a process for producing the polypeptide by recombinant methods. It also disclosed the method of applying the polypeptide for the treatment of various kinds of disease, such as glutamate metabolic defect, organic acidemia, metabolic disorder, cancer, embryonic developmental disease, growth dysgenopathy, inflammation, immune disease. The antagonist of the polypeptide and therapeutic use of the same is also disclosed.
