A sheet extrusion machine has a worm distributer 12 in the orifice 8. The worm 12 is either conical with a constant depth of thread and/or has a thread of reducing pitch. The worm 12 may be an extension of the screw 6, Fig. 1, separately driven, Fig. 3, or may be of centre feed with right and left hands, Fig. 4. The nozzle may have a pressure equalising slot and adjustable lips.
