A needle holder used in a safety hypodermic syringe comprising a cylindrical sleeve provided with a movable tab and engagement recess which are disengaged when the tab is in an extended position, where the tab is forced by external force to engage with the recess so that the tab is in an inwardly squeezed position, is new. An Independent claim is also included for a safety hypodermic syringe.
