Error signal (10) representing departure of a gyroscope spinner from the standard position is produced by a coil which detects a varying magnetic flux. The signal is passed through a second order active filter (11) which uses an operational amplifier (17) to a generator of precession torque (8) via an electronic switch (12) and a power amplifier(13). A timeswitch connects normal control (16) to the precession torque generator at normal speed.
