A cold nuclear fusion apparatus comprises an emitter (3) for high energy particles produced by the superposition of electrical currents in a plasma with addition exceeding the speed of light, and a cold fusion cell (2) comprising an electrolysis vessel (9) containing water or heavy water and acting as a trap for the high energy particles and bombarded by waves (6) from an emitter (12) and subjected to at least one magnetic field (7). The electrolysis vessel has a palladium cathode (4) and a platinum electrode (10), and the apparatus is controlled by a computer programme.
