Each case (2) includes a strap wall and two back walls which form a closed volume. Each case has optical read bar codes or any other type of identifier. Strap walls (28) are fitted with an assembly designed to form with these walls sensibly identical contours and perimeters but with greater depths. One of the walls of a case can be removed from the strap wall. One of the case base walls is hinged on the trap wall so as to form an opening cover. Automatic cabinet fitted with: (a) a power section including actuators, pre-actuators and sensors; a control section, managed by a program; a section which ensures dialogue between users and the control section; the cabinet includes a case storage rack that has a case support (7) designed to be driven in a reversible way by a drive, between two case input output positions on the case support; an extractor/release mechanism allows in a first variable input/output position, the forward and return movement of cases between a drawer and case support; the extractor/release mechanism permits, in a second fixed input/output position , the forward and return displacement of cases between the case support and a case output for the user.
