The bicycle carrier for a motor vehicle has a frame (10) formed from a parallelogram linkage which can be folded away when not in use. The frame has two longitudinal tubes (11,12) each with a catch (21) at one end to receive a fixed tube mounted on the vehicle. It has two cross arms (13,14) and holders to retain the bicycles transversely of the vehicle.
