948,496. Dry shavers. V. KOBLER, and W. KOBLER, [trading as KOBLER & CO.]. Aug. 15, 1960 [Aug. 15, 1959], No. 28219/60. Heading B4B. In a shear head 2, for a dry shaver, comprising a tubular outer cutter 4 and a tubular inner cutter 4a driven by a motor in the handle 1, hair-catching flaps 3, pivoted on the handle, close the open ends of the head which diverge towards the skin-contacting surface of the outer cutter to increase the length of the cutting portion of the shear head. The ends 4a, 5 of the inner and outer cutters are similarly inclined and cut hair is discharged downwardly into the hair-catching space. The open sides of the flaps 3 taper to the edge 3a so that there is no ineffective extension of the cutting surface. In a modification, the skin-contacting surface of the shear head is straight in its longitudinal direction. |
