The viewing unit (3) is made up of a blind tubular body (3a) with at least a closed end (3b) which is transparent. This end is directed towards the interior of the tank (2) so that its opposite end (3c) is above the outside of the tank so as to form in or on it a sealed location freely accessible from the exterior and designed to receive a light source (4) and the light sensor (6). The unit (3) has transparent sides and is immersed in the tank at a predetermined depth. The inspection system is in the form of a portal under which the vehicle carrying the tank passes and stops in pre-established positions for the inspection. The inspection system comprises: (a) a fixed , sealed and transparent viewing unit fitted to the upper part of the tank, whose dimensions and positioning are such as to provide a field of view (V1,V2) inside the tank, designed to allow control of empty state, and or its general state and or measurement of contained volume and or detection of foreign bodies inside the tank; an independent light source (4) designed to illuminate the tanks interior through a sealed opening in the tank; a light sensor (6) fitted into the viewing unit; a viewing interface (7) receiving the signal, from the sensor. which provides an image to a remote operator, at ground level, of the inside of the tank |
