PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin composition from which is produced a molded article having a good balance of flame retardancy, non-hygroscopicity and heat resistance. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic resin composition comprises (A) a thermoplastic resin and (B) a phosphite, wherein the component (B) is one or more phosphites selected from ones represented by formula I, wherein n is an integer of not less than 1; M1 and M2, which may be the same or different, are each independently an atom or an organic group that forms a salt; and R denotes hydrogen, a 1-16C alkyl group, an aralkyl group, an alkyl group containing an ether linkage, an aryl group or a cycloalkyl group.
