PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tube expander which can prevent the breakage of a seal of a cylinder by reducing the deflection of an expansion rod and a bar-like male screw by supporting a reference base at a plurality of points even when the expansion rod and the bar-like male screw of the cylinder which are reciprocating means of the reference base are subjected to the instantaneous application of the self weight of a stripper plate via the reference base. SOLUTION: In this tube expander in which the reference base 1 touching a stripper plate 9 so as to stop it at the predetermined position the stripper plate 9 having a stripper 9a which is reciprocally moving along the longitudinal direction of a stay 19a provided on the reference base 19 and setting the projection length of a tube projecting from an end plate 15 of a heat exchanger set on the reference base 19 is provided on the guide rod 2 erected parallel to the stay 19a in a positionally adjustable manner in the axial direction, the reference base 1 is supported by the stay 19a in a positionally adjustable manner in the axial direction.
