ORAL CAVITY STREPTOCOCCUS FRACTIONATOR AND DEVELOPING MEMBER FOR THE BACTERIUM, AND METHOD FOR FRACTIONATION USING THE FRACTIONATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject fractionator for fractionating a preparation containing Streptococcus mutans and Streptococcus sobrinus with respective chain numbers depending on the chain numbers, and to provide a method for fractionating such a preparation using the fractionator. SOLUTION: This fractionator is such one that a Streptococcus developing member furnished with a density gradient 2 comprising at least two densities using a viscous solution and a centrifugal member capable of centrifuging the above developing member under holding are set up in a vessel 1. The method for fractionating a preparation containing Streptococcus mutans and Streptococcus sobrinus with respective chain numbers comprises the following process: the preparation under the density gradient 2 is sedimented through the density gradient 2 ambience at rates dependent on the respective chain numbers of the bacteria by the centrifugal force generated by the centrifugal member; since the respective rates of sedimentation are reduced due to the density gradient 2, the bacteria in the density gradient 2 ambience never sink onto the bottom surface of the vessel 1 at all, thus forming fractions dependent on the respective chain numbers of both kinds of the bacteria in the density gradient 2 ambience.
